Today we are going to the Library after lunch to play with Mrs. Carson because she teaches guitar and we thought she could give us some good pointers and help us out. Over the course of the week Sarah and I have been going to see Ms. Rhyne during advisory to practice and spit ball ideas. I think it went really well the only problem is having to take my guitar to and from school, but I will probably get over it. Overall I feel much more accomplished this week and feel like I have been working more at it. This next week I hope to keep up the work. Right now Sarah is working on putting a song on word to help me figure it out so we will see where I get but I am very excited!!!!!

Today I am going to see Ms. Rhyne with Sarah and we are going to practice together. We also have maybe found another teacher to help us. Her name is Mrs. Carson and she is a Librarian. I cant believe we are a little over a month out from having to be finished with this project. I am nervous that I wont complete it in time but I will try to get as far as I can and at least learn one song.

I had an idea to make posters that relate to the guitar and tell what they are, how they work, what kinds, the chords you need to play, etc. Then I am going to hang them on my closet door ( because I keep it open most of the time) and it will tell all about the guitar. I think this will help me get to know and remember the chords better. This week I also practiced transitioning from chord to chord in a smoother manner so there isn't as long of a pause and it doesn't sound as bad. I think next week when a lot of stuff has died down in the afternoons I will try to work more with the guitar (at least 5 times a week).

Jimmy Page once said "I believe every guitar player inherently has something unique about their playing. They just have to identify what makes them different and develop it." Jimmy Page was is an English musician, songwriter, and record producer who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the rock band Led Zeppelin. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest guitar players of all time and in his day was sought out by many.
This is a great achievement and I could only dream about being this good but I can always try for my best. There is always a place to what is considered the best but isn't my best the best. It is only how far that I can take myself and where I can get that will be considered my best.
This week I didn't do anything and it probably made me forget a lot and got me nowhere and I know that I have to try harder. once I get back from Canada I will try my best on Friday to get more done and work until I know one who song even if it is very simple.

3/4/16
This week I learned the F chord and I put up a sign in my closet so that every time I am in there I can look at the chords and remember them a little better. I picked up the guitar once and worked out timing to where I can practice at school every Friday if I need to during class. Today I will work on learning more about what the guitar is and the history behind it and I will start my Friday sessions at school next week.

Progress Report
This past week I didn't do very much with my project. I got some beginner guitar books from my voice teacher that her son used when he was younger. I didn't learn anything from them yet as much as I opened them and skimmed the pages. They look like they will be a big help in beginner songs and transitioning from chords, opposed to having to stop after every chord.

Proposal:
Picking at the Strings
Teaching myself how to play the guitar
In doing this project I hope
to learn to play a new instrument and expand my knowledge of reading music. In doing
this it will make it easier for me to play the piano and sight-read.
My
project will benefit myself in my knowledge of music. It may also benefit my
voice and piano teacher in I will be easier to teach and will be able to learn
songs faster.
My
mom, voice teacher, or Mrs. Rhyne can help me with this project. I would ask
them for what the best materials are and what is the best way to take to get to
where I want to be at the end of this project.

This spring I plan on showing the
steps I got to take there. From looking up all of the definitions to getting my
own actual guitar.
I
will need a guitar, Capo, Case, pick, Tuner. I will start out with borrowed
materials to see if I really like guitar and then if I do I will pay for them.
I
am excited for this project because I get to expand my knowledge of something I
know. I get to better myself and if I get good enough I can perform in front of
people and let them enjoy what I do.
